PORTLAND FAQ

The Answers You Need

DO I NEED A HELMET?

Helments are included in board rentals. You must wear a helmet at all times. Riding an electric longboard risks serious injury or death at all times.

HOW DO I GET THE BOARD?

We offer delivery anywhere in the Portland Metro. Once you book, I will give you a call and we will work out a good time and place to meet.

IS PORTLAND A GOOD PLACE TO RIDE?

YES! Portland is an ESK8ers Paradise. Year after year, the city has been voted the best place to bike, featuring a 30 mile loop the city’s “most scenic ride by far”—not to mention, one of the country’s top 10 urban bike rides. It crosses several of Portland’s iconic bridges and passes through Waterfront Park and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. That being said, it’s even better on a Boosted Board with Extended range battery or a 40-mile range Metroboard. It helps of course to know your streets.

WHERE CAN I RIDE?

  • Multi-Use Path - Path for Pedestrians, Bikes, and Skateboards (yield to pedestrians, look out for little kids and dogs).

  • Bike Lanes - Bikes & Skateboards some are protected, many are not, some are 2-way, some are even painted green). Always be aware of cars making right turns!

  • Shared Lanes - Cars, Bikes, & Skateboards, if you are a very confident, experienced rider, take the lane, always yield to right of way, and if it seems too dangerous, pick up your board and walk to a safer place to ride.

  • OFF LIMITS - There is NO skating allowed on any portion of the downtown transit mall on 5th and 6th Avenues or on the walkways (sidewalks) in the center of the downtown park blocks. In the downtown core area–defined geographically by Naito Parkway to the east, 13th Avenue to the west, Northwest Hoyt Street to the north and Southwest Jefferson Street to the south–you are allowed to skate in the street only, not on the sidewalk.

  • ALWAYS RIDE SAFE, WEAR A HELMET and be AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. Once you receive the board, conduct a board safety inspection and can demonstrate you can operate it in a safe and legal manner, you assume all risk and liability. If it’s your first time, we will show you how to do this until you are fully confident and capable to ride without assistance on low traffic multi-use paths (no cars, maybe a few pedestrians and bicyclists).
